Doreen is my sister's
cat. She used to be the cat of a friend of mine who had had a baby. Doreen,
then called Wanda, attacked my friend whenever she was with the baby, so the
cat had to go. Doreen stayed with us overnight before my sister decided to
have her. I have always found Doreen to be very temperamental. She is very
pretty and likes to be stroked but seems to turn on you for no apparent reason.
Often, when we are looking after her when Wen and Clive go on holiday, she
scratches me and once tried to leg me down the stairs. Here is what Wen says
about Doreen: "She is like a dog. She's full of character, one minute
biting and scratching, the next very loving and being like a shadow."
