The Home Front Directory by Alison Reynolds and Sarah Childs-Carlile

What the blurb on the back says...

"Creating the home of your dreams is not always easy, particularly if you're looking for original style at an affordable price. But help is at hand as the Home Front team have drawn on their years of experience and creative resourcefulness to put together a one-stop guide to nearly 2000 stockists and suppliers of products and services throughout the UK.

The Home Front Directory covers everything from buying a front door or an unusual pot of paint, to sourcing a funky sixties lava lamp, a traditional fireplace or a Shaker-style chair.

Chapters include walls, floors, kitchens, bathrooms, lighting, storage, salvage, the global village, kids' rooms, decorating courses.

Packed with essential information and highlighting products and inspirational ideas from the TV series the Home Front Directory is the only address book you'll ever need."

What I thought of it...

On first inspection, I was a little disappointed that it didn't have any colour pictures in it to give me inspiration but then I guess that this isn't what this book is about. It is literally packed full of names and addresses of all kinds of companies for you to track down that certain something that's going to make your home design dreams come true. There is a description of what each company sells or does so you have some idea of who you need to get in touch with. I would say that this book is going to prove to be invaluable.
