It is with great sadness that I report that Kittypuss has, tragically, passed away. She had been ill for some time with what the vet diagnosed as Irritable Bowen Disease, with the possibility that Kitty had a tumour in her intestines. To do a biopsy on her intestines was deemed too risky, so we attempted to control her condition with anti-biotics and steroids.
We thought she was getting better but she slowly lost weight. She had an appointment with the vet on Friday 3 December 2004 for a check-up but, that morning, she deteriorated very quickly.
The appointment was brought forward due to her very poor health. Upon examination, Kittypuss was found to be extremely anaemic. The vet told us that, whilst there were procedures available to keep Kitty alive, there was nothing that could be done to make her better. We were advised to have her put to sleep. She was ten and a half.
We spent some time with her saying goodbye when she purred a little. The end was very quick. She is buried in the back garden with Sophie Dophie.
